What’s in the name?

“Penderview Events” isn’t just some classy or swanky sounding business name. There’s a backstory to this brand, and we’re super excited to share it with you all.

In June of 2021, our founder Anna was so graciously gifted with her current home. Her grandfather, her Opa, very generously helped her to purchase the condo she now lives in, making her a homeowner in Fairfax, VA at age 29. The place she now calls home is in the “Penderbrook Square” neighborhood, and she lives on a street called “Penderview Terrace.”

When we think of Penderview Events, we all immediately think of Anna’s home on Penderview Terrace and her extremely generous grandfather. We think of paying it forward, as he’s so graciously given Anna so much, We all now feel compelled to give back to those around us. We feel called to invite others into this business based on generosity, and to do so with a deep joy and gratitude for those we invite in. We feel compelled to draw others into the welcome and generosity Anna so powerfully experienced, and give our clients that same experience, wherever we meet, too.

Sadly, on October 31st, 2022, Anna’s Opa passed on, “graduating to Heaven” as you may say. Anna is incredibly happy for him, and yet so sad still. This man was a man of incredible generosity, “an attitude of gratitude,” and lived out such a powerful narrative of forgiveness.

He lived through World War II, has a rags to riches story, was an entrepreneur himself, starting the first OBGYN practice in Manassas, VA over 50 years ago, and was such a family man. He even got to meet his first great-grandson, Henry, pictured above before he passed! Anna loves her Opa dearly, misses him daily, and was extremely close to him.

He really has so profoundly impacted her life and has left an amazing legacy for Anna’s family. She feels so compelled now, as already mentioned, to pay it forward. Anna loves what she does, and she really loves living within his legacy! Thankful is an understatement.

All about our Founder, Anna.

Life really isn’t “all about me.” One of the most freeing realizations I’ve made in my life has actually been that the exact opposite is true. And, in that realization, I’ve come to know that service to others, focusing on others and bringing them joy, whether in my work or my life in general, is one of the greatest gifts I could offer.

I’ve said here already too that I want all of the events I plan to be not only in service to others, but also authentically them. I want the events I plan to be true to the people I’m serving. There really isn’t a better feeling in event planning.

In my free time, I love the gym, my morning cup of coffee, spending time with friends, dancing, attending and serving at my church, and finding special ways to bring others joy! I also have two other online platforms for business: my Etsy shop and The DIY Wedding Planning Playbook! And I also sell Amway on the side. :)
